Why we built it
Most baby lists are long, generic and written to sell. They rarely say how many of something you need, or whether it can wait until your baby is here. So parents buy too much too early, then make late-night trips for the things they're actually missing.
ByDueDate starts from one date, your due date. From that we work out the season your baby arrives in, what you need in the first days, what can wait a few weeks, and what most families can skip entirely.
What we do
- Planning tools and calculators that answer for your due date, season and budget.
- Short, practical checklists with quantities and timing.
- Plain-English summaries of official safety guidance, with links to the source.
- A monthly recall check of every product we mention.
What we don't do
- We don't give medical advice. For health questions, talk to your doctor or pediatrician.
- We don't claim to test products in a lab. We compare published specifications, standards and size charts.
- We don't rank car seats or sleep products for safety. We point you to official guidance and certified experts.
Who runs ByDueDate
ByDueDate is a small, independent site written for families in the United States and run from Malaysia. Every page is reviewed and approved by our editor before it's published. We use AI tools to help research and draft, and every fact is checked against the sources we cite. Read how we work.
How we make money
Some links on ByDueDate are affiliate links. If you buy something or sign up through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That's how the site stays free. It never decides what we recommend, and we often tell you to skip things or use what you already have. Read the full disclosure.
